I walked for days
down a wild river with no name
past so many vines and damp alcoves
that I couldn't believe my watch still worked.
It all disappeared when I walked past you,
and nothing looked like home
except the sky, which at night
came down with the fog.
You grabbed me and looked me in the eye,
and the air in the world that never knew you
felt just like your breath.
