260

The people I knew when I was young
must have forgotten all about each other
now, in separate states with the people
who they work with.

I didn't even recognize you until I heard your voice
that always used to go alone with a nudge on my shoulder,
the smell of the afternoon, and the image of my timid hands.

And I can feel it all now.
Say something you used to say
and maybe we'll get coffee soon,
so I can sit with how I used to feel
and discuss the job market.
