Your father reaches across the table
for the butter next to me
and clears his throat.
You must have had thinner blinds
and a whiter table cloth when
you used to come home from school for lunch.
A deer head sticks out of the wall
like the only thing in the room.
I'm not sure where we are now.
Who would I be if I asked?
