The distance to our house to the nearest tenth of a mile
He runs through numbers, still focused on the road.
How long it will take-
The nearest post office-
How he found it-
The thing about post offices-
ENOUGH. I could say,
Now tell me what I know.
Because that poem you wrote
Wasn't about my mother or the post office,
But you wrote it anyway.
And I'd have to look him in the eye,
Say good bye, I am going to be
Someone else now, then look ahead
And wonder where his eyes are.
